About Me

My name is Kristi Brawley. As a former school librarian in North Carolina, I spent twenty years curating print and electronic resources for my patrons, helping students and teachers with research projects, building and weeding the library’s collection, and most recently, genre-fying the fiction books. Having earned my MLIS at the University of Pittsburgh, I am also K-12 certified in NC and Texas. I currently work in a San Antonio independent school, serving grades 6-12 and a small boarding community.

When I’m ready to retire from teaching, I envision a career move to an academic or special library but am also open to other opportunities in archives that may present themselves at that time. After touring the archives of the Sisters of Mercy in 2017, and later volunteering at the Mercy Heritage Center in Belmont, I developed a fondness for and interest in religious archives, which ultimately led to my completing a graduate archives and special collections program at USM.
